MERIT BADGES: NEW AND UPDATED

All merit badge counselors need to complete a one page merit badge counselor registration form by the end of September. This form is attached. Please give to Phil Bossert at a troop meeting.
For scouts attending merit badge academies, the Houston Science Museum, Moody Gardens, and other special venues for merit badges: you will be assigned a merit badge counselor in the troop to review what you learned during these events and they will sign off your blue cards.
The merit badge section of the troop website www.bactroop442.org has been updated with great information including a new PowerPoint presentation for merit badge counselors.
We need parents to volunteer to be a merit badge counselor--Eagle required badges are in big need of additional counselors.
Please return old merit badge pamphlets to the troop library
Blue cards will only be issued to merit badge counselors and parents of scouts who are attending a formal merit badge class such as the Houston Science Museum, Moody Gardens, MB Academy, etc.
When scouts complete a merit badge, see Mr. Bossert who will fill out the blue card and then turn it into Mrs. Benson
For the 100th anniversary of scouting The Boy Scouts of America has issued 4 merit badges that you can only earn until December 31, 2010: Carpentry, Tracking, Path-finding, and Signaling.
